It is with heavy hearts we share with you the new that on 30^th April 2025 Moorcroft Pottery have announced the immediate closure of the pottery.

It is with deep sadness that the Board of Directors announced on 30^th April 2025 the closure of W. Moorcroft Limited with immediate effect. The closure comes after an extended period of intense marketing, which regrettably did not result in a buyer who could proceed with a sufficient level of investment.

The company faces an increase in energy and other costs, in a difficult trading environment with a global cost of living crisis. This has resulted in a seemingly, unsustainable financial position. The closure of the business has resulted in the redundancy of 57 employees, some of whom are being supported by the GMB Union. As first reported at the end of February, staff were notified of potential redundancy and have now been made aware of the procedure for making redundancy claims. The Board of Directors wishes to thank each employee for their unique heritage skills and commitment to the Art Pottery during a very challenging economic period.

The World-famous English Pottery company Moorcroft have been producing Australian inspired designs pottery since the 1930’s much to delight of England collectors as well as many other countries especially Australia.

Faulconbridge Antiques are the Authorised Moorcroft Retailers in New South Wales of new and contemporary Moorcroft. Over the past 10 years we have participated in Moorcroft National Tours of Australia which present Australian Exclusive Collections and Designs.

We are proud to say in 2018 we commissioned and collaborated with Moorcroft to produce two exclusive Australian designs, The Prestige "Gang Gang  Cockatoo’s" vase in a limited edition size of 10 only and the "Blackheath Rhododendron" collection that were also available in small limited editions. These two designs also had a special backstamp applied to the bases of pieces stating they were exclusive to Faulconbridge Antiques. 

To this day, Moorcroft continues to produce Australian Exclusive Collections of designs, that are eagerly sought after by collectors.
