We are so lucky that these pieces of artistry still exist.” Notwithstanding the fact that Morris had been a pioneer in silk dyeing and prints of silk, from his association with Thomas Wardle in Leek, Staffordshire, Emma felt that Moorcroft’s painters would be able to perfectly achieve a blend of peach-coloured poppies, calamine-pink and ruby ragged petals as well as cobalt cornflower blues poppies, to create Ravishes of Colour.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAs she angled her pencil deftly around the shape, just as Morris had done a century before in one dimensional form, to create a living wreath of blue, cabbage-yellow and vibrant green foliage to cushion her poppies, the consummate skills of the Arts \u0026amp; Crafts Movement were reborn in a different idiom.
