Her hair is covered by a sombre hat. Yet there is something more. The old flower seller appears to be giving a final salute to the flowers, her gaze, no longer towards the city or the people within its streets, broad and narrow, but to the flurry of colourful tulips, as bright orange lilies rise to cover her bowed head.
